This year’s TRHS competitive cheer team started out with 20 girls, and most of them were new to cheer. For the first competition, the team only put six out of 20 on the mat because of the fact that most of the girls were new, and they placed 5th. Then unfortunately the season wasn’t good for the girls, because this season the girls had a good chance of scoring well, but the season still went badly.

Coach Cassidee Sinkler went through many struggles with the girls this season, but she pushed them very hard. They practiced five days a week for two hours and had competitions every Saturday and select Wednesdays. At competitions they placed 3rd place at Gull Lake, but most other competitions they placed about 7th place with scores around 580 out of 800. At this time there were 11 girls on the mat, and the team also beat Otsego for the first time in years. At districts they took 14th place, and that’s where the season ended. Hopefully, next year the team will push through all the hardships that come their way and put everything they have on the mat!
