Anime is a hand-drawn or computer animation associated with Japan. The word anime is the Japanese term for animation, which means all forms of animated media, typically aimed at adults as well as children. Anime tends to get a bad rap, but I’m here to tell you why anime is enjoyable and amazing to watch.

First off anime is free to watch on many different sites and apps. You can watch anime on any of the streaming sites such as Netflix and HBO. There are also apps and websites such as Crunchyroll or 9anime. You could also buy the DVDs at places like FYE in the mall or online. Another excellent feature to anime is the soundtrack and music. The music is so awe-inspiring to listen to. You can really hear the talent with which it was made. The animation itself in anime is unbelievable. There are many different styles that the artist can use and they are just so incredible. Just the animation alone will give you enough incentive to watch.

It may not seem like an “adult cartoon” could have something like character depth or intriguing plot lines, but anime is the top contender for those attributes. They also have very strong messages and symbols in the shows. It’s not all fan service (although there is some in a lot of anime, but not all), anime has a lot of good qualities to their shows. Certain shows can be all serious and action (the action is one of the best parts to anime; the fight scenes are incredible), some are just comedy, while others have a mix of both that really adds to variety. There is any number of genres that could spark interest for anyone. My personal favorite aspect of anime is there are so many possibilities for plot lines and characters. You could have humans, aliens, demons, superheroes, anything you could think of and more. Many of the characters are engaging and unique; that is something that really draws me in. There are animes with a lot of strong female characters that I really love. There may be some sexism in some animes, but I tend to lean away from those ones; and there’s not many.

Many people think anime is weird but once you watch a few episodes you see that it’s just the style of Japanese animation. You can really learn to appreciate its odd characteristics. Overall, anime is pretty entertaining and really maintains your interests. I would highly recommend you to give anime a try, I mean what’s the worst that could happen? You get addicted like me and spend everyday watching anime.
