Growing up in Michigan means that you will experience snow in the winter. The temperature drops and we don our winter jackets, hats, and gloves. We have a good time playing in the snow, building snowmen, and sledding down hills. We associate snow and winter with Christmas, which brings joy to many people. However, snow can be tedius to brush off our cars early in the morning. I think everyone can agree that it is not enjoyable. We worry about our loved ones sliding on the ice and getting into an accident. It seems like something is always cold. You either love snow or you hate it, or maybe it depends on the day.

  • Erin Brady (junior) says,“ I don’t mind it, but I don’t like driving in it. I also don’t enjoy how it messes up my hair.”
  • Shelby Krawczak (junior) says, “I don’t like driving in the snow, but I like snowball fights.”
  • Jalen Heivilin (junior) says, “Snow isn’t horrible.”
  • Jaeden McBride (junior) says, “I don’t like driving in it, but I like it because I get to go snowboarding.”
  • Erin Taylor (senior) says, “I like it because I enjoy snowboarding, but I don’t like that it is cold.”
  • Alexis Matthews (senior) says, “It’s nice to look at through a window.”
  • Stephanie McLochlin (senior) says, “I like snow on Christmas because who doesn’t like a white Christmas, but I don’t like the cold or the slush.”

As can be seen from the variety of responses, many people have reasons to like and to dislike snow. Snow can be a wonderful thing, but also an annoying one. Just remember, if you enjoy snow then cherish your time with it in the winter. If you don’t enjoy snow, then you just need to make it through a few months.
