Haidyn Barnett-Smedziuk, daughter of Sean Smedziuk and Melissa Barnett, has been awarded Academic Elite. Only those with a GPA of 3.75 or higher make it in to this honored group. In the class of 2017, 41 students were recognized for their outsanding GPA. Haidyn said she was most proud of her academic achievments, like this one, in high school.
One of the people she looks up to is a teacher right here at Three Rivers High School. “Mr. Muffley is always there when you need him, and he’s willing to help with anything you’re going through.” She plans to attend “Indiana University because of its medical program and the opportunities I was offered if I attended that university,” she said.
The thing she’ll miss most about TRHS is band. “I’ll miss marching band and the teachers that have helped me along the way.” Throughout her four years of high school, Haidyn has learned a very important lesson: “Don’t depend on other people to make yourself successful.”
I am so proud of you and your accomplishments. Congratulations on your recent graduation and the hard work that went into the four years of achieving your goal, good job and well done. Have you decided where you will be going to college and where you will be living? Stay in touch and let me know how you are doing. Love, Anna Smedziuk-Mason
