Alex Schmidtendorff has been coaching high school sports for seven years, three of which have been spent coaching men’s cross country. The runners on the team are hoping to go to state this year. “Both individually and as a team (they) are running better than (they) ever have,” said Schmidtendorff. He was a runner in both high school and college, so he knows what it takes to be a great distance runner. Outside of coaching, Schmidtendorff is a dad, so his time management is important. Schmidtendorff is also an elementary gym teacher in Three Rivers. He is excited for the end of the season because “the end meets are always the fun ones.”
